Jigawa Drug Kingpin Arrested, Drug Cache Recovered 24th September 2025

The Nigeria Police Force, Jigawa State Command, on Monday disclosed the arrest of a notorious and wanted drug dealer known as ‘Xina’, along with a large quantity of illicit drugs. This is contained in a statement made available to journalists in Dutse, the state capital, by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam. According to SP Adam, the arrest was made on September 18, around 11 pm by operatives from the Dutse Division who caught the notorious 20-year-old Jamilu Ibrahim  (aka Xina), of Galadimawa at the disreputable Yantifa black spot, within Dutse metropolitan, the state capital.

‘Xina,’ a notorious drug kingpin, was finally arrested after many failed attempts by the police.

It was reported that for months, security operatives pursued him relentlessly around the Yantifa black spot, where he trafficked large quantities of illicit drugs, but failed until during this raid by the officers from the Dutse Division, who successfully apprehended him. The command’s Public Relations Officer, Shi’isu Adam, said, ‘’Xina’s arrest is a major win in our battle against drug trafficking. Despite numerous operations targeting him, his capture came from the dedication and sharp planning of our officers during this operation. “During the raid, the police recovered 323 tablets of Exol, 287 tablets of D5, 80 tablets of Diazepam, and 40 white Lara capsules, alongside the sum of N163,500 believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

In a related operation, Adam said on September 19 at about 4 am, officers from Yalwawa Division arrested three suspected burglars in possession of stolen items.The suspects, Abdullahi Alhassan, Umar Musa, and 17-year-old Sagiru Umar, all from Yalwawa Quarters in Dutse metropolis, were found with a 42-inch Samsung television, a sewing machine, a laptop, an iPhone, two keypad phones, and N21,000 in cash. Adam noted that investigations into both cases are ongoing, promising that the suspects will be brought to court after discreet inquiries. He, however, commended the Divisional Police Officers and their teams for their dedication and gallantry in keeping the state safe across their jurisdictions.

The Jigawa Police spokesperson, therefore, urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to aid the police in curbing criminal activities statewide. He reassured citizens of the command’s commitment to maintaining a crime-free society where peace and order prevail. However, the Jigawa State Police Command, in the statement, reminded residents to always be security-conscious and cooperate fully with law enforcement working in the state.
