Algeria has officially qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a dominant 3-0 victory over Somalia on Thursday at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran.
Wolfsburg striker Mohamed Amoura was the star of the night, scoring twice and playing a key role in securing Algeria’s fifth appearance at the global football showpiece. Captain Riyad Mahrez assisted both goals and added one of his own in a commanding performance.
With this win, Algeria sit atop Group G with 22 points from nine matches, four ahead of second-placed Uganda, and with only one match remaining in the qualifying series, their place in the 2026 World Cup is confirmed.
