The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Niger State Council, has congratulated former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, on his 85th birthday.
In a message signed by the state chairman, Barrister Mahmud Al-Ameen Muye, and made available to journalists in Minna at the weekend, JUSUN described Babangida as an elder statesman whose leadership left a significant mark on Nigeria.
Muye said Babangida, an illustrious son of Niger State, had played an important role in promoting national unity and contributing to the development of the country during his time as Nigeria’s leader.
According to him, the former military president’s years in public service earned him a lasting place in Nigeria’s history and distinguished him among his contemporaries.
The JUSUN chairman also pointed to several projects and programmes introduced during Babangida’s administration, saying they continued to have a positive impact on the lives of Nigerians.
He further praised the former military leader for his role in promoting peace, unity and stability, noting that his commitment to a united Nigeria could not be overlooked.
Muye said Babangida’s experience and influence had also allowed him to continue playing a fatherly role in the country, particularly as an elder statesman.
He prayed for good health, wisdom and continued strength for the former military president, wishing him a peaceful and prosperous 85th birthday.
