The Cross River State Government, through the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Content, hereby announces the launch of the 2026 Vocational Skills Empowerment Programme (VOSEP), which is one of local content office initiative and supported by the People-First government led by His Excellency, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu. VOSEP is designed to empower Cross Riverians; particularly youths and women with practical, market-driven skills that enhance employability, entrepreneurship, and economic self-reliance, while positioning local talents to benefit from emerging opportunities across the state.
The fully sponsored programme, conceived and championed by Ambassador Awatt Caleb Ekpeyong, Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Content, will train over 500 beneficiaries in carefully selected high-demand vocational and professional skills aligned with national development priorities and industry needs. VOSEP integrates hands-on training, mentorship, and clear pathways to employment or start-up support, and is backed by the Nigerian Content Development Act, reinforcing the People-First Government’s commitment to bridging skills gaps and strengthening indigenous participation across all sectors of the economy.
The programme is scheduled to commence this January 2026, and interested applicants are invited to apply via the official Local Content digital portal at https://crossriverlocalcontent.com.ng for registration, accreditation, and empowerment under the VOSEP Programme. The Cross River State Government calls on stakeholders, development partners, and the private sector to support this transformative initiative as it delivers sustainable empowerment, job creation, and shared prosperity for Cross River State.
