In 2019, As A Legislative Aide At The National Assembly, I Felt The Need Compliment The Efforts Of My Principal And Tried To Influence Some Projects To Our People. One Of The MDAs I Decided To Try Was The (Now Defunct) Ministry Of Niger Delta Affairs, Where Rt. Hon. Essien Ayi The Member Representing Akpabuyo/Bakassi/Calabar South Federal Constituency At The Time, Held Sway As Chairman House Committee on Niger Delta Affairs. I Didn’t Have Direct Access To Him, So I Called My Dad; Barr. IdiYakubu, To Put In A Word With Him To Help Our People Get Potable Water. He Called Rt. Hon. Essien Ayi, And Without Hesitation He Asked That I Bring The Project Description, And The Rest Was History.
The Borehole Project Was Supposed To Cover Abakpa, Nkimkol (Ogoja) And Igbo-Wanibolor In Ukelle(Yala) Due To Insufficient Funds, The Ministry Approved Abakpa And Nkimkol. The Two Projects Were Executed And Running.
We Discovered A While Ago That Both Projects Had Packed Up, And We Are Excited To Announce That We Have Rehabilitated Both Boreholes In Nkimkol (Ogoja Urban Ward I) And Abakpa (Urban Ward II) To Compliment The Efforts Of My Principal, Hon. Chris Agbeh, The Executive Chairman Of Ogoja, Local Government Area, Who Has Made Sure Every Ward In Ogoja, Has Atleast One Project From His Administration.
Today, As Part Of The Activities To Mark Our One Year In Office, Coming Up On The 4th Of November, 2025, We Have Commissioned The Boreholes And Handed Over To The Communities To Manage. The Water From These Boreholes Are Free, Please No One Should Collect Monies From Our People Before They Access Same. To The Best Of Our Capacities, We Will Make Government About “WE” not “I” About “US” not “ME”. We Will Continue To Contribute Our Quota To Make Life Easier For Our People to Love.
