Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Hon. Philip Agbese, has defended the implementation of the 2025 national budget, insisting that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is on course with its economic reforms despite concerns over delays.
Speaking to journalists today, Agbese praised the Federal Government’s commitment to transparency, fiscal discipline, and sustainable growth, while also commending the leadership of the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
Agbese insisted that the National Assembly is closely monitoring the budget’s implementation and expressed confidence that key capital projects will roll out by late September. He also highlighted key reforms introduced by President Tinubu’s administration, including Removal of fuel subsidy, Unification of exchange rates. These, he said, helped drive a 3.46% GDP growth in the third quarter of 2024 and improved foreign reserves. The lawmaker urged Nigerians to remain patient, assuring that tangible improvements in roads, schools, and hospitals will become visible by year-end.
