The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced that its Continuous Voter Registration CVR exercise will take place in 811 centers across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, revealed this in a statement issued after the commission’s regular meeting in Abuja that the commission will launch an online CVR Live Locator, which will be accessible nationwide to make it easier for citizens to find their registration centers.
Olumekun explained that the CVR will begin on August 18 with the online pre-registration phase, followed by in-person registration starting on August 25. He added that both processes will run concurrently for a year until August 30, 2026.
The exercise will be conducted in 811 centers, comprising INEC offices in the 774 local government areas, the 36 states, and the FCT. Registration will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding national public holidays.
Olumekun added that the CVR Live Locator will go live on August 17, 2025, and can be accessed via https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/locator.
