Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to fully occupy Gaza is drawing sharp criticism from military leaders, hostage families, and international allies, amid fears it will deepen the humanitarian crisis and isolate Israel further.
Speaking to Newsmen ahead of a key security cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said Israel intended to take full control of Gaza to guarantee its security, remove Hamas from power, and hand civilian governance to Arab forces.
Meanwhile, The UK’s ambassador to Israel, Simon Walter, called the plan a huge mistake, while US envoy Mike Huckabee said it was for Israel to decide. Netanyahu has rejected any post-war governing role for the Palestinian Authority, offering no clear alternative vision for Gaza.
