Protest Rocks Police Headquarters as Demonstrators Demand Arrests Over Sowore Attack in Ekiti

Protesters have stormed the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja, demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of those behind the alleged assassination attempt on African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, and members of his team in Ekiti State.

The demonstration followed a violent attack reportedly carried out against Sowore and his associates in Ado-Ekiti on October 30, 2026.

The protesters called on the police to launch a thorough and independent investigation into the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

They also demanded the arrest of the alleged sponsors and perpetrators of the attack, insisting that nobody involved should be allowed to escape accountability.

The demonstrators further called for an investigation into the conduct of security operatives, demanding action against any officer found to have participated in the violence or obstructed efforts to investigate the incident.

They insisted that the authorities must take the matter seriously and ensure that those responsible are identified and prosecuted.

The protesters’ demands centre on justice for Sowore and his team, as well as stronger protection for political actors and citizens against politically motivated violence.

More details are expected as the protest and police response unfold.
