Shettima Reassures Nigerians Abroad of Stronger Engagement

Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured Nigerians in the diaspora that their contributions will play a central role in the nation’s development agenda. Speaking in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, he pledged deeper engagement with citizens overseas in shaping the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Shettima urged Nigerians abroad to maintain confidence in the country, noting that under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the nation is on the right path. He pointed to improving macroeconomic indicators, including foreign reserves approaching 40 billion dollars, higher revenues for state governments, and record levels of infrastructure investment.

The Vice President emphasised that the skills, knowledge, and experience of Nigerians living abroad are invaluable to national progress. He also promised further interactions with diaspora communities to strengthen their involvement in driving Nigeria’s growth.
