1Youth2Skills – Anambra Share 3.5 Billion Naira to 8,300 Youths

The Anambra State Government has announced plans to disburse N3.5 billion to 8,300 youths under the second phase of its 1Youth2Skills Plus empowerment initiative, to help beneficiaries establish and expand their businesses after undergoing entrepreneurial and vocational training.

The state Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba, revealed that the graduation and empowerment ceremony is scheduled for September 23 at the International Conference Centre in Awka, where Governor Chukwuma Soludo will personally present the financial support packages. The event will also feature the unveiling of new initiatives targeted at creating young millionaires and smart entrepreneurs across the state.

Aghamba announced that in the first phase of the scheme, about 5,000 youths received N2 billion in funding, alongside mentorship and cooperative support. He said the success of the rollout informed the expansion of the initiative to include more beneficiaries.

The commissioner emphasised that the programme reflects the administration’s vision of transforming Anambra into a hub of innovation and productivity. He said the state will drive long-term economic growth and build a stronger generation of entrepreneurs with the programme.
