Popular Nigerian auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, better known as IVD, has reportedly been arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The arrest took place on Friday, according to reports, just as IVD was heading to Qatar for his wedding with controversial relationship coach, Blessing CEO.
According to blogger Stella Dimoko-Korkus, the arrest is connected to the ongoing court case surrounding the death of IVD’s late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Dimoko-Korkus stated:
“The domestic violence case against him regarding his late wife is still in court. IVD is not supposed to leave Nigeria until the case is over.”
Back in October 2022, Bimbo Ogbonna died after suffering severe injuries from a fire incident at their Lagos home. The incident was reportedly linked to domestic violence.
The Lagos State Government has since charged IVD with one count of involuntary manslaughter under suit No LD/21055C/23.
As of the time of this report, official authorities are yet to release a statement regarding the arrest.
