Uzodimma Order Immediate, Indefinite Suspension Of All ENTRACO Field Operations

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has ordered the immediate and indefinite suspension of all field operations of the Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission ENTRACO.

The directive, announced by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, comes in the wake of public outrage over the death of two men on a motorbike.

The men were reportedly killed on Monday along Akachi Road, after an ENTRACO vehicle lost control during enforcement operations.

Governor Uzodimma has also mandated the formation of a panel of inquiry to investigate ENTRACO and other state task forces.

In a statement, the governor directed the state Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, to arrest and prosecute anyone operating under the name or guise of ENTRACO, as well as members of other task forces found harassing or intimidating residents.

The governor further urged residents with evidence of unlawful activities by ENTRACO operatives to report to the police or the forthcoming investigative panel. He emphasized that all those found culpable would face the full wrath of the law, regardless of rank or position.
