In a major move to enhance fuel distribution across Nigeria, Dangote Refinery has announced it will commence free direct petrol deliveries to filling stations beginning Monday, September 15, 2025.

The company also confirmed a reduction in petrol pump prices, with Lagos and South-Western states now set to buy petrol at ₦841 per litre, while the new price in Abuja, Edo, Kwara, Rivers, and Delta states will be ₦851 per litre.

The announcement was made via the refinery’s official X page.  The company said the initial phase of the free delivery initiative will cover 11 states, with plans to gradually expand nationwide.

The latest move is seen as part of Dangote Refinery’s broader strategy to improve logistics efficiency and reduce fuel distribution costs, following its earlier acquisition of 4,000 compressed natural gas-powered tankers in June.

The refinery stated that its goal is to roll out 10,000 CNG-powered trucks by the end of 2025, a shift that is expected to lower emissions and support cleaner energy adoption in fuel transport operations.
