The Nigerian Senate today confirmed Opeyemi Olukayode as the new chairman of the National Pension Commission PENCOM. Olukayode, representing the South West, was nominated by President Bola Tinubu.
In addition to Olukayode, four other nominees were confirmed as national commissioners of the agency. The confirmations followed the Senate’s adoption of the report presented by its Committee on Establishment and Public Service, chaired by Senator Oluwole Fasuyi Cyril.
Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, who presided over plenary, commended President Tinubu for nominating outstanding Nigerians and expressed confidence that the appointees would add significant value to PENCOM.
