President Bola Tinubu has officially launched the Presidential Women’s Health Transformation Initiative, code-named RenewHER, aimed at improving maternal health and overall well-being of women across Nigeria. The initiative was unveiled at a ceremony held at the Presidential Villa, where the president was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The president described RenewHER as a direct response to one of the nation’s most pressing healthcare needs and a critical step towards building a healthier Nigeria. According to the president, the RenewHER programme will serve as a national framework to coordinate collaborative efforts among government agencies and stakeholders.
Key features include, Creation of a Presidential Focal Office on Women’s Health Collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health, State-Wide Approach Coordination Office, Ministry of Women Affairs, and the Governors’ Spouses Forum, Integration of women’s health priorities at all levels, federal, state, and community and Establishment of an AI-powered National Women’s Health Digital Hub.
The digital hub will facilitate geo-targeted health campaigns focusing on maternal survival, adolescent health, preventive care, and health workforce development. President Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration would serve as both umbrella and catalyst for coordinated efforts across all tiers of government until RenewHER achieves tangible results.
