Smear Campaign Against Women Affairs Minister Won’t Succeed — Perm Sec

The Ministry of Women Affairs has pushed back strongly against what it calls an orchestrated smear campaign against Minister Hajiya Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, insisting that no amount of blackmail will distract her from her duties.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Maryam Ismail-Kenshiro, issued the statement on Tuesday, condemning a leaked invitation by a group called Transparency and Integrity Watch Initiative (TIWI), which announced a press briefing aimed at tarnishing the Minister’s image.

She said the attacks follow last week’s protest by some ministry staff, which she described as politically motivated and rooted in internal communication gaps.

“It is clear that these campaigns are politically calculated distractions,” she said. “They are aimed at undermining a Minister who has shown nothing but integrity, courage, and commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Dr. Ismail-Kenshiro stressed that the Ministry stands united behind the Minister, who continues to enjoy the trust of her staff and community.

“No amount of falsehood will derail us from delivering on our mandate,” she affirmed. “We urge Nigerians to ignore these distractions and remain confident in the leadership of Hajiya Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim.”
