Former Adamawa North Senator, Elisha Abbo, has revealed that he defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2020 without seeking spiritual guidance.
The former lawmaker, in a post on his official X account on Friday, said he had since embarked on 31 days of fasting and prayers to seek God’s direction regarding his next political move.
Abbo said: “In 2020, I left PDP for APC without praying and asking God’s direction on which party to join. I left for tangible reasons and raw instincts and joined APC out of human judgement and to flow with the tide.”
The politician was elected to the Senate in 2019 under the PDP, later defected to the APC in 2020, and was re-elected in 2023. However, he lost his seat after a court declared PDP’s Amos Yohanna the authentic winner.
