Federal High Court to Begin 2025 Christmas Break from December 19

The Federal High Court has announced it will commence its 2025 Christmas vacation on December 19.

In a statement issued today in Abuja, the FHC’s Director of Information, Catherine Christopher, said court activities across all judicial divisions will resume on January 7, 2026.

Christopher explained that the Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt divisions will remain operational throughout the vacation period to ensure continued access for the public.

She added that only specific categories of cases will be entertained during the break. These include matters related to the enforcement of fundamental rights, arrest or release of vessels, and issues of urgent national importance. The annual vacation allows federal institutions to scale down activities during the festive season while maintaining essential judicial services.
