Nigeria Launch Interest-Free Support Fund for Tertiary Institution Staff

The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled the Tertiary Institutions Staff Support Fund TISSF, a new welfare and empowerment scheme for academic and non-academic staff in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, announced the initiative in a statement today, describing it as a strategic platform aimed at providing financial stability, enhancing career development, and promoting dignity for staff members.

According to Alausa, TISSF is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Reform Agenda for Education, which prioritises the welfare of personnel as a key driver of education sector transformation and economic growth. The scheme is a joint project of the Federal Ministry of Education and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund TETFund, in partnership with the Bank of Industry.
