The All Progressives Congress – APC Youth Parliament in the North-East has cautioned party leaders against any move to replace Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning that such action could threaten party unity and undermine President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Addressing a press conference today in Bauchi, the Chairman of the APC Youth Parliament, North-East Zone, Kabiru Garba Kobi, expressed concern over growing rumours of a possible shake-up in the party’s presidential ticketdescribed the speculation as unsettling and potentially damaging.
Kobi emphasized that the APC must not repeat the mistakes of the past, referencing the internal conflicts that led to the downfall of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the 2015 elections.
He added that the Youth Parliament remains firmly behind the Tinubu-Shettima team, describing them as tested and trusted. Kobi reaffirmed the group’s unwavering support for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima and urged all APC members to prioritize party cohesion.
