As Christians and Muslims commence the sacred seasons of Lent and Ramadan today, I extend my warmest greetings to all faithfuls in the Federal Capital Territory and across Nigeria.
These solemn periods of fasting, prayer and reflection are powerful reminders of the enduring values of sacrifice, discipline, compassion and love for humanity. They offer us a unique opportunity to draw closer to God, strengthen our moral resolve, and recommit ourselves to peaceful coexistence and national development.
At a time when our nation yearns for unity, stability and progress, I urge all adherents to use this holy season to pray fervently for Nigeria, for our leaders and for the continued peace and security of the Federal Capital Territory.
As journalists, we remain committed to promoting truth, fairness, and responsible reportage that fosters harmony and understanding among our diverse people. Let this sacred season inspire us all to be ambassadors of peace, tolerance and mutual respect.
On behalf of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, I wish all Muslim and Christian faithfuls a spiritually rewarding Ramadan and Lenten season.
May our prayers and sacrifices usher in renewed hope and greater prosperity for our nation.
