The Cross River State Police Command has a new voice, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. ASP Sunday Eitokpah Akata, a young, dynamic, and dedicated officer, has been appointed as the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
In a special visit to congratulate the new PPRO, Chief Dr. Kingsley Ita Asanye Ikpeme, Pioneer Director General of Greater Calabar City Development Authority and Chairman of Odukpani Leadership Academy, on Tuesday, 13th January 2026, visited the Police PPRO office at the State Police Headquarters, Diamond, Calabar.
ASP Akata’s appointment is a testament to his exceptional service, hard work, and commitment to duty. His sincerity, passion, and dedication to the Nigeria Police Force have earned him this recognition, and we commend him for his outstanding contributions.

Chief Dr. Ikpeme, in his congrulatory message, praised the Inspector-General of Police for recognizing ASP Akata’s potential and appointing him to this critical position.
