Breaking: EX-CDS MUSA MEETS PRESIDENT TINUBU AT ASO VILLA.

Just a few hours of the resignation from office by the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Musa arrived at the State House at 7:03 pm on Monday and was escorted into the President’s office area by a senior security official.

Dressed in dark-green traditional Middle Belt attire, this marks Musa’s first public engagement with President Tinubu since his retirement on October 24, 2025.

The purpose of the meeting remains unclear but feelers from the politics are insinuating he may be a replacement for Abubakar Badaru.

However, the visit comes at a time of rising security concerns across northern Nigeria, following a series of disturbing incidents including:

The abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State,

An attack on worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, and

The kidnapping of Catholic schoolchildren in Niger State.

Security agencies are currently intensifying counterterrorism and anti-kidnapping operations across the North-West and North-Central regions.
