The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria DICON says it is setting its sights beyond Nigeria toward the West African and wider African markets.
This as it prepares to begin local production of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected MRAP vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, and other defence equipment under a new partnership with Zumach Associates Limited.
Director-General of DICON, Major General Babatunde Alaya, disclosed this today in Abuja after signing a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with Zumach Associates Limited and other partners, including Fortis International. He said the agency’s priority is to meet Nigeria’s defence requirements before expanding into regional exports.
In his remark, the Managing Director of Zumach Associates Limited, Chris Ezumah, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting DICON’s mandate with excellence, innovation, and accountability.
Similarly, the Head of Operations at Fortis International, Ibrahim Suleiman, pledged the organisation’s full support for the project, noting that Fortis International is prepared to work closely with DICON to ensure production milestones are achieved within the proposed three-month timeframe.
