Breaking News: Cross River State to host South -South Aviation Training Centre as Governor Otu Recieves Red-Carpet invitation from NCAT.

  • Cross River State is set to make history in the aviation sector as the Governor; His Excellency Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu has received an official red-carpet invitation from the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, to solidify a partnership that will establish the South-South Aviation Training Centre in Calabar.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Content, Amb. Awatt Caleb, who recently concluded a three-day working visit to NCAT, officially presented his report and the Rector’s invitation letter to the Governor in Calabar. The college further pledged to sponsor a chartered flight for the Governor’s facility tour to Zaria as part of preparations for the partnership’s kickoff.

According to the Rector, NCAT recognized globally by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO); will work with the state to train Cross Riverians in Piloting, Aircraft maintenance, Air traffic control, Technical communication, and Airport emergency management.

Governor Otu with delight described the development as a major leap for Cross River’s aviation and economic future, noting that it complements the state’s recent acquisition of two CRJ-1000 aircrafts and aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA).

Special recognition goes to Amb.
