Dangote Petroleum Refinery has resumed the sale of petrol in naira, just a day after suspending the initiative. The company announced over the weekend that the decision followed the intervention of the federal government, specifically through the Naira for Crude Technical Committee. Clients were notified by email to begin placing orders again, with the option of self-collection or free nationwide delivery.
The sale of petrol in naira was first introduced on October 1, 2024, as part of a broader government strategy to support local refining, conserve foreign exchange, and stabilize fuel prices. However, Dangote had briefly halted the program on Friday, citing the depletion of its crude-for-naira allocation as the reason.
