The city of Ibadan witnessed a historic event today as Governor Seyi Makinde exercising his constitutional powers, formally conferred the royal Staff of Office to Oba Rashidi Ladoja sealing his ascension to the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. Governor Makinde described the coronation as a milestone, commending Ladoja’s long-standing service to the people of Ibadan and Nigeria, he highlighted the new monarch’s political and traditional pedigree, expressing confidence that his reign will promote unity, progress, and development across Ibadanland.
