Governor Makinde presents Staff of Office to Oba Rashidi Ladoja

The city of Ibadan witnessed a historic event today as Governor Seyi Makinde exercising his constitutional powers, formally conferred the royal Staff of Office to Oba Rashidi Ladoja sealing his ascension to the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. The coronation, held in the ancient city, marked a significant moment for the people of Ibadan and Oyo State.

Governor Makinde described the coronation as a milestone, commending Ladoja’s long-standing service to the people of Ibadan and Nigeria, he highlighted the new monarch’s political and traditional pedigree, expressing confidence that his reign will promote unity, progress, and development across Ibadanland. The governor further linked the coronation to other milestones in Oyo State, including the recent reopening of the Ladi Akintola International Airport, describing both as signs of growth and new beginnings for the state.
