The Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory FCT Area Councils and Ancillary Matters has appealed to striking resident doctors in the FCT to suspend their industrial action, assuring them that their grievances are being taken seriously.
During an emergency meeting held on Thursday, the committee, chaired by Senator David Jimkuta, met with the leadership of the National Association of Resident Doctors NARD, FCT chapter, to discuss the ongoing strike and possible solutions.
Senator Jimkuta pledged to personally meet with FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, today to escalate the matter and ensure the doctors’ demands are addressed swiftly.
