Infidelity Allegation: Soludo Rejects Ekwunife’s ‘Apology’

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State and his wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo, have rejected what they described as “another fabrication” – an alleged apology attributed to Senator Uche Ekwunife over the scandalous claims of infidelity levelled against the First Lady.

The so-called apology, circulating online and supposedly signed by the “Ekwunife Campaign Organisation,” was dismissed outright by the governor’s office as fake, suspicious and worthless.

In a hard-hitting statement signed by Mazi Ejimofor Opara, Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Soludo insisted that the unsigned apology could not be taken seriously. “There is no such campaign body,” Opara pointed out, “since Ekwunife is contesting on a joint APC ticket. The apology clearly did not emanate from her, especially as her defamatory claims were made in her own voice via recorded video and leaked audio.”

The governor’s team argued that any genuine retraction must come directly from Ekwunife herself, through the same channels she used to spread the damaging allegations.

“The so-called apology makes no reference to her initial defamatory video and audio, but instead tries to hide behind an unsigned article. That in itself shows complicity,” Opara said.

It will be recalled that Dr. Nonye Soludo had previously challenged Senator Ekwunife to publicly clear herself by taking two bold steps: swear before the Blessed Sacrament to affirm fidelity to her marriage, and agree to DNA tests on her children alongside the Soludos’ children to put the rumour to rest.

“Any contrite apology must be personal, direct and unequivocal,” the governor’s office declared. “Slander made by an individual cannot be dismissed by proxy.”

The Soludo administration dismissed the supposed apology as “social media gossip fit for the waste bin,” vowing to proceed as if it never existed – while still demanding a direct and unambiguous retraction from Senator Ekwunife herself.
