Nigeria’s equities market has delivered spectacular returns in 2025, with several mid- and small-cap stocks soaring far above the broader benchmarks.
Leading the rally is Beta Glass Plc, which has surged by 649 percent this year, turning a ₦1 million naira investment in January into over ₦7 million naira. Close behind is Mutual Benefit Assurance Plc, up 593 percent, reflecting renewed interest in low-priced insurance stocks amid the sector’s ongoing recapitalisation. Other insurers like Custodian Investment and AIICO Insurance also enjoyed strong momentum.
Beyond financials, Initiates Plc has climbed 380 percent, Champion Breweries 346 percent, and Ellah Lakes 324 percent, all boosted by investor bets on specialised growth opportunities. Transport and manufacturing firms such as ABC Transport and Honeywell Flour Mills have also delivered impressive gains.
The rally extends to real estate and household goods, with UPDC and Vitafoam Nigeria each advancing over 240 percent.
