NASC Appoints Emmanuel Odo as Acting Senate Clerk

The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has approved the appointment of Mr. Emmanuel Odo as the Acting Clerk of the Senate, following the retirement of Mr. Emmanuel Rawlings Agada.

The appointment was ratified during the Commission’s 10th meeting held in Abuja, pending the confirmation of a substantive replacement in consultation with the leadership of the National Assembly, both political and administrative.

Until his new appointment, Odo served as Deputy Clerk, Administration of the Senate.

He has held various strategic positions within the Senate over the years, particularly in committee operations, earning him a reputation for competence and institutional knowledge.

Following the announcement, staff members of the Senate expressed delight at Odo’s elevation, describing him as “humble, simple, experienced, and committed to upholding the standard and integrity of the Senate.”

His appointment is seen by insiders as a continuity move that ensures institutional stability and the smooth functioning of the legislative body.
