The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended financial support to 500 women in Abia State through her Renewed Hope Initiative Women Economic Empowerment Programme.
The beneficiaries, mostly traders and small-scale business owners, each received ₦50,000 grants aimed at boosting their businesses and strengthening family livelihoods.
The launch, held in Umuahia on Friday, was attended by Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, wife of the Abia State Governor, who stood in for the First Lady.
Mrs Otti praised Oluremi Tinubu for her commitment to uplifting women and families. “This programme is not just about supporting businesses, it is about securing the future of families, educating children, and uplifting entire communities,” she said.
She further noted that access to funding and empowerment opportunities for women will have long-term positive impacts across Abia State and beyond.
