Vice President Kashim Shettima has described a three-day official visit of his Colombian counterpart, Vice President Francia Márquez, noting that his presence will strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Colombia.
The vice president expressed confidence that the engagements would open a new chapter in political cooperation, economic ventures, and cultural exchanges that would benefit future generations. He added that the visit will feature high-level talks on expanding cooperation in key sectors
Meanwhile, Márquez underlined the historic and strategic importance of the trip, highlighting areas of collaboration such as peace, tourism, culture, education, health, and social justice. She pledged to use Colombia’s influence in South America to foster stronger trade connections with Africa, while conveying condolences from President Gustavo Petro on the passing of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
