The Federal Government has introduced a new performance benchmark for the four paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior, directing their chief executives to aim for 100 per cent delivery. The directive follows the ministry’s 85 per cent score in a recent federal performance assessment, which the government says must be improved upon over the next year.
Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the target at the end of a three-day performance contracting retreat for the ministry and its parastatals in Niger State. He urged agency heads to work in line with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda by ensuring efficiency and excellence in service delivery.
The minister highlighted recent improvements across agencies, noting the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ increased efforts in safeguarding critical national assets through its mining marshal squad. He emphasized that achieving top performance requires dedication and accountability from all agencies, assuring that the Presidency would continue to support reforms designed to enhance security and public service across the ministry.
