The National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has reunited 128 rescued kidnap victims with their families in Abuja today. The victims, mostly women and children, were freed by security forces during operations in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State.
Ribadu explained that the survivors will receive trauma care and support to help them reintegrate into their communities. He commended the security agencies for their efforts and vowed that those behind the abductions will be tracked down and brought to justice.
During the ceremony, the National Counter Terrorism Centre disclosed that one of the children rescued sadly died from illness, while a premature baby delivered during the operation is currently receiving medical care in an incubator.
The NSA stressed that security challenges must not be politicised and urged Nigerians to support the fight against kidnapping and terrorism. He reassured the public that the government remains committed to protecting citizens and restoring peace in troubled areas.
