Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has called for enhanced collaboration among African nations to tackle the continent’s growing and increasingly complex security challenges.
Speaking at the African Chiefs of Defence Staff Summit held in Abuja, Matawalle emphasized the urgent need for African-led solutions to issues such as terrorism, cyberattacks, and maritime insecurity. He stated that the country has consistently played a key role in peacekeeping, counter-terrorism, and humanitarian efforts across the continent. He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to both bilateral and multilateral defence partnerships aimed at promoting stability, development, and democratic governance in Africa.
