A passenger train travelling from Abuja to Kaduna derailed earlier today, causing panic among passengers and their families. The incident occurred shortly after the train left the capital around 11 a.m.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation confirmed that the derailment happened at kilometre 49, between Kubwa and Asham stations, noting that emergency services, including medical teams and security operatives, were immediately mobilised to the scene.
Military personnel were also deployed to assist in evacuating stranded passengers, while nearby hospitals were placed on alert. At the time of reporting, there were no confirmed details of injuries or casualties.
