South African firebrand politician, Julius Malema, has urged Africans to stop looking to foreign powers for salvation.
Speaking at the opening of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference in Enugu, Malema declared:
“Our salvation lies here, in Lagos and Johannesburg, in Abuja and Pretoria – in the hands of Africans who refuse to be divided.”
He dismissed the idea that transformation would come from Washington, London, Brussels, or Beijing, saying Africa’s destiny rests solely in African unity and self-reliance.
