Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has vowed to support whoever emerges as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate in 2026.
Speaking at a party event in Lagos on Saturday – where defectors from ADC and Labour Party were welcomed – Atiku, represented by Prof. Ola Olateju, said:
“It doesn’t matter if I win the ticket or not. Whoever emerges through a fair contest will have my full backing.”
He stressed that the party would not impose candidates, noting that all aspirants would enjoy a level playing field.
Among the frontrunners for the ADC ticket are Atiku himself, Peter Obi, and Chibuike Amaechi.
