Akwa Ibom Governor Pastor Umo Eno has thrown his support behind both Ibom Air and Comfort Emmanson, the passenger who recently clashed with the state-owned airline.
Eno told a crowd at a reception in Nsit Ubium that “both the airline and the passenger belong to Akwa Ibom and deserve support.”
Emmanson, who was briefly remanded before being pardoned by Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, had complained of trauma following the incident.
The governor urged citizens not to take sides: “Our money is invested in Ibom Air, so be proud of it. The lady is our daughter. Whatever happened, it was a mistake. When two people fight, someone must step in to separate them.”
