The Nigerian film industry has lost one of its pioneering figures as veteran actor Fabian Adibe has passed away at the age of 82.
The news of his death was confirmed on Wednesday by Seun Oloketuyi, Chief Executive Officer of Best of Nollywood (BON).
“Things Fall Apart actor, Fabian Adibie, is dead. Died 2:30 am this morning,” Oloketuyi wrote in a social media post.
Adibe was celebrated for his remarkable contributions to Nollywood’s early years and is particularly remembered for his powerful role in the screen adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart. His career spanned decades, during which he appeared in several classic productions that helped shape Nigeria’s film industry.
