President Bola Tinubu today urged Nigerians to use a newly launched Personal Income Tax calculator designed to show how much they will pay under the tax reforms his administration has signed into law.
In a statement posted on his official X account, president Tinubu said the tool enables citizens to compare their estimated tax under the new regime with current rates, ensuring transparency and a clear understanding of how the reforms will affect individual incomes.
He added that a fair tax system must never punish poverty or weigh down the most vulnerable, stressing that the reforms would protect low-income earners, promote fairness, and simplify compliance ahead of its implementation in January 2026.
