Manchester City defender Ruben Dias has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at Etihad Stadium until 2029, with an option for a further year. The 28-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire in 2027.
Dias joined City from Benfica in 2020 for £65m Euros and has since become a key figure in Pep Guar-diola’s squad. He was named Premier League Player of the Year in his debut season and has helped the club win four league titles, a Champions League crown, the EFL Cup, and the FA Cup.
Reacting to the extension, the Portugal international described Manchester as his home, praising fans and the club for his achievements during his time. City’s director of football, Hugo Viana, hailed Dias as a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch.
