The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has dismissed as fake a viral “wanted” poster of Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo.
The notice, which circulated widely on social media claiming Ojo was wanted by the IGP Monitoring Unit, was declared false and misleading.
In a Facebook post, the police stated:
“FAKE NEWS ALERT! This ‘WANTED’ poster of actress Iyabo Ojo did not emanate from the Nigeria Police Force. It is false, misleading and never posted on any official NPF platform. Disregard and stop spreading fake news.”
The Force urged Nigerians to verify information only through its official channels to avoid falling victim to misinformation.
