The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has sealed a fresh partnership with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to deliver affordable homes for police officers across Nigeria.
Housing Minister Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, who led a delegation to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, said President Bola Tinubu has approved a landmark housing project that will provide thousands of units for officers and their families.
He warned that encroachment on federal lands is delaying key projects, and announced a new national task force—working with the police—to protect government assets.
The IGP welcomed the move, calling housing a “critical welfare need” for officers. He pledged full police support for both the housing plan and the new task force, stressing that protecting government land is a matter of urgent national interest.
