Former Chelsea and England midfielder Joe Cole has cast doubt on Arsenal’s new striker, Viktor Gyokeres, hinting that the Gunners should have gone for Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen instead.
Speaking to Hayters TV, Cole admitted that Gyokeres, who joined from Sporting CP, is a strong player but insisted that the Swedish striker still comes with “a question mark.”
“If Arsenal had signed Osimhen – who has proved himself in Italy and Turkey – you would know what you’re getting. With Gyokeres, I think he will do alright, but the jury is still out,” Cole said.
Osimhen had been linked with Arsenal earlier this summer but eventually made a surprise switch to Galatasaray.
