The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured another big win in Edo State, with Barrister Omosede Gabriella Igbinedion emerging victorious in the Ovia Federal Constituency by-election.
INEC’s Returning Officer, Professor Clement Ighodalo, announced the results, confirming that Omosede polled 17,093 votes — miles ahead of her closest rival, Ikponmwosa Aikpitanyi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who managed just 3,283. Other parties trailed far behind, with ADC securing 915 votes, NNPP 214, PRP 45, and SDP 25, while minor parties barely registered on the tally sheet.
With her victory declared, celebrations broke out within the APC family across Edo, bringing weeks of intense grassroots campaigning to a jubilant close. Omosede Igbinedion now takes her seat in the House of Representatives, representing Ovia Federal Constituency.
