Fresh from his EFCC ordeal, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has ruled out joining the ruling APC, declaring he is not seeking political “forgiveness of sins.”
Addressing cheering supporters in Sokoto, the former governor insisted he would never bow to pressure or intimidation.
“I do not want my sins to be forgiven, so I can’t join the APC. I cannot be blackmailed. No one can tarnish my record,” he thundered.
Tambuwal, a member of the opposition coalition, framed Nigeria’s political space as a choice between “those with Bola Tinubu’s government” and “those with the people,” vowing to side with the latter.
His defiance comes days after EFCC detained him in Abuja over alleged ₦189 billion fraudulent withdrawals during his governorship.
