The Kano State Police Command is investigating two separate violent incidents in Kwalwa Quarters, Kano Municipal LGA.
On 4 August 2025, at about 7:30 pm, unidentified assailants stormed the home of Sadiq Shu’aibu — better known as Sadiq Gentle — stabbing and robbing him. He was taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on 7 August.
Just a day earlier, in the early hours of 3 August, police said 24-year-old Mas’ud Dahiru allegedly broke into the home of Musa Hassan with intent to rob. Dahiru reportedly attempted to stab Hassan’s wife, only to be intercepted by their 18-year-old son, whom he stabbed in the back and face.
Neighbours raised the alarm, leading to Dahiru and his alleged accomplice, 38-year-old Alhaji Haruna, being caught and beaten by a mob. Dahiru later died in hospital, while Haruna and the injured teenager remain hospitalised.
Police Commissioner CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori pledged “transparent investigations” into both cases and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to keeping Kano safe.
